Mark Tripp’s Adventures in Science:

Our “Adventures in Science” school shows were created for schools looking for a fun and exciting science adventure, that really teaches science concepts to the students and the teachers. You can have one, two or all three assemblies, with discounts if you have more than one! This years subject is Physics. All shows can be modified for grade level, and the Suggested Grade level is 3rd, to 12th grade. Suggested Groupings: 3rd - 5th, 6th - 8th, 9th - 12 th Here are the three areas we will cover this year:

Forces and Motion

We examine the world of Physics before Sir Isaac Newton, and then Newton's laws of motion and how they apply to our world today. Your teachers and students will see exciting examples of inertia, action and reaction, mass and acceleration, and much more they will long remember, while at the same time, REALLY learning the concepts behind them. Available 6/05 through 10/05.

Electricity, Magnetism, and Electrostatics

Our program builds on the materials covered in the forces and motion program. We now take the students on a wonderful series of experiments made famous by Ben Franklin, Robert Van de Graff, Michael Faraday, and Nicola Tesla. Your teachers and students will REALLY learn the concepts behind how electricity and magnetism work. Available 11/05 through 2/06.

The Physics & Chemistry Connection

Our final program in this year’s Physics series explores the connections between Physics and other Earth Sciences. In the Physics & Chemistry Connection students will see how laws they learned in the forces and motion series apply to chemical reactions, and that with chemical reactions we can create electricity, magnetism, and even light! Available 3/06 through 6/06.

Magic or Science? Teaching Science with a magic touch!

Our “Magic or Science” programs are designed to be educational and exciting, with the emphasis on fun! These shows are appropriate for Pre-K up to 9 th grade. Using the “hook” of magic and magicians, we explore how science looks like magic, but really are simple when we understand the concepts.

Magic of Illusions

“The Magic of Illusions” can best be described as “Science 101” for your students and teachers. The presenter will guide your teachers and students through basic science concepts, like magic! The sciences covered in the “Magic of Illusions” are: Chemistry, Optical Illusions, Physics, Electro-magnetism, Mathematics, and Topology. All in a fun and exciting manner that will really educate as it entertains!

Magic of Physics

Ever seen someone walk the high wire at a circus? Or juggle? Have you wondered how a person lays on a bed of nails without injury? Did you know that a magician stopped a war with an electro-magnet? All this and much more are learned in our “Magic of Physics” show. Students and teachers are taught solid fundamental principles of physics through exciting magic tricks and performance stunts. Inertia, Air Pressure, Centrifugal and Centripetal force, Center of Mass, and more are covered. This is real science and real education in a fun and exciting program.

Magic of Mathematics

Making mathematics fun and exciting is a REAL magic trick! I have done it with the Magic of mathematics. Students will learn Math is a "core science" to many other sciences (i.e. chemistry, physics, etc.). Also, that Math is how we measure everything in the world (time, distance, weight, etc.), and that Math is how we "reference" ourselves to the world around us (location, grade, money, where we are going, etc.). Students will see exciting “magic tricks”, and then learn the mathematic principles behind them! Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Sets and Subsets, matrix principle, and many more are taught in this show. However your students will learn this in a fun and exciting way that will have them solving problems with ease and excited to learn more! Let me bring that happiness to your school this year with "The Magic of Mathematics!"

Character Building

Conserving Energy in your house, YOU can make a difference

EVERYONE can do something to conserve energy! That is the message of this outstanding program. Students and teachers will learn exactly what energy is with exciting science experiments. They will learn how it is made and used, and how we as Americans waste far more than we are actually using! From using heat for warmth and cooking, the combustion engine, electricity, to even the food we eat and the water we drink, all of them and more use energy, and everyone can do something to conserve that energy! Let this program show your students and teachers how!

How to defeat the bully without fighting

It is not well known that Dr. Tripp holds very high ranking in several martial arts. With a 6 th degree black belt in Judo, an 8 th degree black belt in Jujutsu, the Headmaster of the Budokan Institute of Traditional Judo, and a member of the martial arts for peace program, he is highly qualified to speak on the subject of bullies and bullying. Dr. Tripp himself was bullied and abused as a child, and he brings his personal experience to this outstanding and award-winning program. THE PROBLEM? Every 17 seconds a child is being bullied! Respect, the act that conquers fear

This award-winning program will help your students develop a “Martial Arts code of conduct”. Sometimes we get into situations in which we are scared. In those situations, we can easily forget to act respectfully, toward ourselves as well as to others. We forget sometimes, when meeting people different from us, to act honorably toward them. Sometimes, caught up in our own hopes and desires, we forget to share time with others; we usurp it all, focusing only on ourselves. Whether we're working, playing, or just being with other people, there are usually circumstances in which we forget to look outside ourselves to see how others are doing, whether we are treating them well, whether they need help. By learning and using manners, we live by a martial arts code of conduct and practice attaining its greatest achievements. Dr. Tripp, using his skills as speaker, scientist, martial art master, and magician, will present this “code of conduct” to your school, and you will see positive behavior changes, THAT SAME DAY!

Fund Raising

We at Educational Entertainment know funds are hard to come by. We write grants requests on a daily basis and know how hard it is! To assist you with raising funds for your programs, we have created two special programs. They are much more fun than selling candy and trinkets, and more educational too! These programs are presented at your school, after school. Your students and staff sell tickets to the event and the funds raised go to your school budget. The Physics Circus

This program, created for Elementary School age children and their parents, combines the flair of the circus and the sideshow, with your teachers and staff as performers! Yes, this is safe and simple physics, but your students will long remember “Volta – the electric wonder”, “Sune-lee – the invincible” and many more characters all played by teachers the students know and love. The pictures you will take alone make this worth the effort. The money you raise all the more so.

The Magic of Science, an evening with Mark Tripp

Created for older students and adults, this is an evening with author, lecturer, scientist, actor, educator, martial artist and magician, Mark Tripp. This evening is a celebration of his life and experiences. Wonderful stories of the people he has met, things he has seen, and how the world of science has changed over the years. Using his skills as science teacher, martial artist and magician, people will see amazing things, and learn why Maslow said, “We study science to regain a sense of wonder in an ever-changing world.” This evening with Dr. Tripp will leave everyone with a renewed sense of wonder.
